Ground Transportation

Motorcoaches are fully air-conditioned everywhere while touring. No use of the motorcoach other than as specified in the itinerary. One group airport transfer on arrival and departure.

Hotels

Accommodations will be provided in superior tourist-class hotels, or best available tourist-class. Twin-bedded rooms with private bath or shower, based on double occupancy. Hotel taxes, service charges, state and local taxes, tips to baggage porters and hotel staff are all included in the tour prices.

TOUR SCHEDULE

Day 1 – Arrive Berlin
Welcome to Germany! Upon arrival in Berlin, meet your Tour Director and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to start exploring this colorful metropolis.

Day 2 – Berlin
On this morning’s included guided tour you will see that while the city is no longer divided it is still every bit as fascinating. Once the city of contrasts with its West and East side separating two different worlds, since the wall came down, Berlin has developed into a harmonious blend of old and new. Later we head to the PERGAMON (Archaeological) MUSEUM. Opened in 1930 on the famed “Museum Island” of Berlin, it is subdivided into the antiquity collection, the Middle East museum, and the museum of Islamic art. (B)

Day 3 – Berlin
Breakfast is included at your hotel this morning. The rest of the day is free for you to explore. (B)

Day 4 – Berlin – Dresden – Prague
En route toward the German frontier, today’s highlight is a stop in Dresden, a magnificently restored city after its almost total destruction in World War II. There you will visit the VOLKSWAGEN FACTORY and have time for lunch on your own. Discover more of Bohemia as you journey your way toward Prague. (B)

Day 5 – Prague
Morning sightseeing with a Local Guide reveals why Prague is considered one of Europe’s most attractive capitals. Visit the 1,000-year-old HRADCANY CASTLE GROUNDS. Also see ST. VITUS CATHEDRAL, the Old Town, the Jewish ghetto, and the ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK, once the envy of all Europe. (B)

Day 6 – Prague – Budapest
Your destination today is Budapest, the most lively of Eastern European capitals. This evening is free for you to explore. (B)

Day 7 – Budapest
Your Local Guide takes you through Eastern Europe’s most cosmopolitan city. Included sightseeing features outside view of monuments on Castle Hill, Citadel and Gellert Hill. Also see Heroes’ Square, which typifies the modern capital, as well as the old inns and wine cellars along the riverbank. Entrance to Matthias Coronation Church. Later on this evening enjoy a one hour river cruise on the Danube. (B)

Day 8 – Budapest – Munich
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your arranged flight to Munich. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for an afternoon and evening at leisure. (B)

Day 9 – Munich
Sightseeing with a Local Guide of Germany’s “Secret Capital” includes a visit to Amalienburg, one of the most exquisite creations in the European Rococo style. (B)

Day 10 – Munich
Enjoy a BMW FACTORY tour to learn more of the production of these high quality automobiles. Then, drive to Schwangau for a guided visit of Ludwig II’s fairytale NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE, a 19th-century castle in the heart of the Bavarian Alps. With soaring majestic spires, this was the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland. (B)

Day 11 – Munich
Your magical vacation ends today. A group transfer to the airport will be available for your homebound flights. (B)
