TRANSPORTATION

Motorcoaches are fully air-conditioned everywhere while touring. No use of the motorcoach other than as specified in the itinerary. One group airport transfer on arrival and departure.

HOTELS

Accommodations will be provided in moderate first class or best available superior tourist class aparthotels. Rooms include private bath or shower and a toilet. These aparthotels are usually very centrally located and spacious inside. Quad occupancy accommodations are provided for chaperones unless a single package has been requested.

Hotel taxes, service charges, state and local taxes, tips to baggage porters and hotel staff are all included in the tour prices.

Sightseeing as outlined in the itinerary with inside visits (including admission charges) and special features shown in UPPER CASE in the tour description. Sightseeing with local guides where applicable.

Excess baggage, meals not included in attached itinerary, all items of a personal nature such as laundry, cleaning, telephone, telex or fax expenses, beverages including tea and coffee (except at breakfast and at hotel dinners), wines, liquors, soft drinks, etc. and TIPS FOR THE MOTORCOACH DRIVER, TOUR DIRECTOR, AND LOCAL GUIDES. Tips for local guides are not included and must be paid while on tour.

TOUR SCHEDULE

Day 1 – March 21 – Arrive Barcelona
Welcome to Barcelona! Check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to start exploring lively Barcelona. Tonight, meet your Tour Director. (D)

Day 2 – March 22 – Barcelona
Today we take a walking tour of Barcelona. You will visit Paseo de Gracia to see Gaudi’s famous apartment buildings. Then enjoy a 30-minute visit at Gaudi’s bizarre Parc Guell, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit to the La Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) Cathedral, Gaudi’s unfinished masterpiece and Barcelona’s most famous landmark. (B)(D)

Day 3 – March 23 – Barcelona
Today you have the day to leisurely explore the Gothic Quarter, where you will discover the architecture, atmosphere, language and gastronomy that are unique to Spain, and some of the gourmet shops which are over 100 years old. (B)(D)

Day 4 – March 24 – Barcelona – Madrid
This morning we take Spain’s high speed train “El Ave” from Barcelona to Madrid. Tonight we enjoy a Flamenco Show at Torres Bermejas. (B)

Day 5 – March 25 – Madrid
Morning sightseeing with a Local Guide takes you to the Puerta del Sol, Plaza de España with its monument to Cervantes, the Parliament, Cibeles Fountain, elegant Calle Alcala, and Paseo de Castellana. Then the highlight: a visit to the palatial PRADO MUSEUM with its priceless art treasures. The balance of the day is at leisure. (B)

Day 6 – March 26 – Toledo
Toledo – Spain’s medieval capital and a treasure trove of El Greco artworks. You’ll discover a glorious city filled with amazing medieval architecture, and take a walk into the past along its cobblestone alleyways. (B)

Day 7 – March 27 – Segovia
Segovia is famous for its Alcazar, a beautiful 11th-century medieval fort that inspired the design of the Disney castle. Step back in time and imagine the medieval tournaments that once took place and the heroic knights who fought here. The city is home to one of the best Roman-era monuments on the Iberian Peninsula – Segovia’s incredible aqueduct. (B)

Day 8 — March 28 – Madrid
Today is a special day as we attempt to dance like a Spaniard. A dance instructor will lead us in all the basic moves. This is a great photo opportunity as we dress-up in Flamenco attire. Later we head out to our final “farewell dinner.” (B)(D)

Day 9 — March 29 – Madrid – Transfer to the Airport
